Service Description

This course focuses on the development of school - age children ( ages 5 -12 years).The course introduces approaches in program organization, planning and implementation of programs in before/after-school settings. The course offers 40 hours of in-class study and 5 hours allocated for field trip and project work. Emphasis is placed on age appropriate curriculum and program planning, materials, and methods. This course satisfies the requirements for 45 hours School - Age Child Care required by the State of Maryland for those working in child care centers and/or after - school programs. Participants will explore information required by The Maryland Child Care Administration School - age course Content Criteria. Please bring a packed lunch for a networking lunch meeting.
